Belonging [April 3rd, 2012]

Yes, I know.. It's been like forever since I've posted and I'm seriously full of excuses. But I don't mind sharing them because the past year and more has been so amazing :)
This is my home :) I moved Christmas of 2010 to Elk Creek, Virginia after an off and on month of running dogs. However, I did not realize that when I was running dogs that would not be the reason for me staying in this gorgeous place I have always called "my second home". My friend Robin introduced me to the most beautiful, wonderful man I have ever met - Tracy Roberts. I was instantly love struck as he rode me around his family's Dairy farm under the winter star studded sky and talked about everything we had in common and what we searched for in life... and I believe it was each other :) So needless to say, when it came time for me to return to Morganton (and yes, my beloved Brown Mountain) I could not come back because I knew if I were to leave I may never have the experience and relationship that we shared over such a long distance.

So here I am :)

On June 4th, 2011 Tracy asked me to be his wife, and I said yes. We plan to get married on June 4th 2012 at the local courthouse and have 2 receptions afterwards (one in the creek, one in mo-town) for those invited.
I only come down a couple times a year to Morganton, and usually this is the only time I can get online. I do not have internet access at the house, but might have it installed one day. We live 3200 feet on what they all call "The Ridge" and do not have good reception on anything (including a CB  lol).
I now work full time on the farm, and love it immensely. The calves have to be fed 2x a day as well as the cows having to be milked 2x a day, so we are there almost all of our time when we aren't running dogs or hunting (tracy's favorite). In the summer we grow corn, mow hay and whatever else there is time to do it with. In the fall we harvest the corn for silage and our milk production picks up (we milk about 90 currently).
In summer 2011 I finally moved the rest of my dogyard setup and put the chainlink around the stakeouts. I had been waiting to turn the dogs out  to see them all interact together again and I know they really missed it too!

Anyway, I thought I would update since I havent in a LONG time... too much to update all in one post. The dogs are loving it here, as am I. Will update as I get time.. Happy Trails!
